Single Supplier Consolidation
During 2001, a review of the electrical power supply arrangements was undertaken across a large multinational organisation and huge consumer of electrical power.
It was clearly identified that the development of the company's site network had occurred in a rapid yet piecemeal manner, and that power connections had occurred with whomsoever was locally represented.
The whole supply structure was reviewed and tendered, and proposals sought from the large trans-global suppliers of power for a single supplier arrangement to be implemented. A supplier was duly chosen, and supply agreements consolidated, aligned and transferred to the appointed supplier, reducing costs by an estimated €12m per annum.
