Merger Consolidation Management
Following the merger of two former state-owned telecommunications companies in 2002, a review and consolidation of sites and resources across the UK was performed, with a number of office and technical sites considered surplus to requirements.
Negotiations were held with each of the freeholders, seeking a settlement and release of obligations of the affected leases. The locations in question were then cleared of furniture and refurbished to a base specification, the excess furniture was then resold in the second-hand market.
For the properties where an agreement could not be reached to terminate the leases, promotional material was then produced and the properties passed to a real estate consultant for marketing and disposal.
